Thessaloniki, Greece. According to the Associated Press, a 2000 year old marble road was uncovered while excavating for a new subway system. The section of road found is about 230 feet long about 23 feet below the surface. The road was built by the Romans about 2000 years ago. Viki Tzanakouli, an archaeologist working on the project, said "We have found roads on top of each other, revealing the city's history over the centuries," "the ancient road, and side roads perpendicular to it appear to closely follow modern roads in the city today."
